NCC discusses plan to broaden public-private economic links

ABU DHABI — The Abu Dhabi National Consultative Council’s Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs yesterday held its first meeting to discuss an action plan to broaden the base of public-private engagement in local economic sectors.

The meeting, chaired by the committee’s chairman, Musalam bin Salim bin Ham Al Ameri, explored the prospects for a public-private partnership with regard to executing a number of development projects in remote areas.

The committee also examined ways of backing the emiratisation drive in sectors like trade and business.

Re-organisation and improvement in the performance of the local market for serving more diverse development projects were also touched upon during the meeting.

The committee recommended raising the issue of the government department’s role in undertaking development projects to the house to inspect the progress of work and assess future plans.

The committee asked the NCC’s secretariat-general to address the government departments concerned to provide information required for defining the action plan of the committee.
