It was mentioned in the emiratisation plan which was introduced by Awatif Omaish, head of the human resource department at the MoEY and was presented to Dr Ali Abdul Aziz Al Sharhan, Minister of Education and Youth.
Awatif Omaish pointed out that the ministry would attract more than 2,189 UAE national teachers in the next three years, adding that 4,410 UAE women teachers had already applied for teaching corps.
She said that around 1,398 UAE nationals would be hired in the teaching corps in the next academic year, adding that 504 teachers would be appointed in the academic year 2003/2004 and 604 teachers in the academic year 2004/2005.
According to the plan, 61 per cent of the total number of UAE nationals working at federal government departments are working at the ministry.
