National security awareness campaign discussed

ABU DHABI — The Higher Committee for National Campaign on Security Awareness held its fourth meeting yesterday at the Ministry of Interior.

The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Lieutenant-General Khaleefa Harib Al Khuaily, the Under-Secretary for Administration and Planning at the ministry and the Head of the committee, was attended by other members of the committee.

The meeting was convened to discuss the preparations for the national security awareness campaign being held for the fourth consecutive year, under its permanent slogan "Security is Collective Responsibility." This time around, the campaign will be held during February 18-20 next year under the title "Stable family, Safe Society."

In his opening remarks, Lt Gen Khaleefah Al Khuyaili said the campaign had so far produced excellent results and positive responses. It had left an indelible impression in the minds of the people because of which, the leadership was determined to go ahead with the campaign for the fourth consecutive year, he added.

He hoped that the campaign would fulfil the wishes and aspirations of the top officials at the Ministry of Interior, besides playing a role in achieving security and stability in the country.

He emphasised the need for the branch committees to conclude their preparations for the campaign.

During the meeting, the committee discussed its plans in the spheres of culture, media, sports, and finance for the success of campaign. It also discussed plans for mass contact programmes and other necessary requirements for the campaign. The meeting also approved the posters and brochures for the campaign prepared by the media committee.
