Three other people sustained serious injuries in a separate accident.

Investigators said the youth was driving at excessive speed, the result of which he lost control over the vehicle that overturned.

He was rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital, but died before arrival at its intensive care unit.

“We have been saddened by the death of the youth. We urge all families to educate their sons and daughters on the importance of abiding by speed limits and traffic rules”, said a police spokesman.

The three other people sustained injuries when three vehicles collided in Al Rifa area. It happened when a car driven by a UAE national woman entered the main road without paying attention to oncoming traffic from the left side.

A collision with another car occurred, and the first car veered and hit a third car driven by an Arab expatriate youth.

The woman and two men sustained injuries and were taken to Al Qasimi Hospital. The three vehicles were heavily damaged.
