Dhababa Saeed Nasser Al Romaithi, Press and Awareness Officer at NARC, told Khaleej Times that the centre would participate among the Emirates Falconers Clubs section.

Narc's participation in the exhibition to keep alive heritage sports like falconry and breeding of houbarah, in addition to communicating with falconers who can benefit from the centre's expertise in protection of falcons and houbarah birds.

"Narc will present a number of rare Asian houbarah produced by new techniques," she said.

The houbarah bustard is the main quarry in the traditional sport of falconry, an integral part of UAE's heritage.

She said that by manipulating environmental conditions in captivity, birds could now be stimulated to breed before the start of the natural breeding season.

The International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition is a major show in the Abu Dhabi Emirate, offering appropriate surroundings for producers of weapons, hunting vehicles, gunfire, fishing, falconry, hunting and competition shotguns, pistols, archery and accessories, and other open-air sports equipment and accessories, to display them.

"The exhibition will be held under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, who is also Chairman of the Emirates Falconers Club," she said.
