Nahyan opens aviation conference at UAEU

The 20th Annual International Conference on Civil Aviation Laws under the National Legislations and the International Conventions was opened today at the UAE University (UAEU) by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the UAEU.

The 3-day conference is organized by the Faculty of Law of UAEU in cooperation with the Dubai Courts & Dubai Civil Aviation Authority.

In opening remark, Sheikh Nahyan said the conference provides an important platform for discussing legal and legislative issues.

The event, he added, celebrates the rule of law in the UAE and underscores the role of scientific research in advancing legal practices in the UAE and the region towards more consistency and efficiency.

He noted that the location of the Gulf and the Middle East is among the fastest growing regions in the world in terms of economy and the size of aviation business in particular.

He underscored the high importance of aviation regulations and legislations in countering challenges which need to be incessantly developed both nationally and internationally.

Sheikh Nahyan also expressed gratitude for the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his directives to transform the UAEU into a centre for excellence and experience.

He also thanked Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his role in backing innovation and research for a bright future for the UAE.
