Nahyan lauds contribution by HCT

AL AIN - Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), has said that the HCT is firm in its mission, steadfast in its commitment and unrelenting in its pursuit of quality education.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the Al Ain Women's College Open Day and Bazaar yesterday, Shaikh Nahyan said: "Today is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the Al Ain Women's College and to review its significant accomplishments."

Shaikh Nahyan said the Open Day and Bazaar was an ideal opportunity to acknowledge the strong support, generosity and encouragement of the President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, that allowed the HCT to be effective in its service to the society.

Shaikh Nahyan added: "The HCT focus is on its students and it has always remained committed to offer a learning experience that nurtures the qualities of mind and character needed to live and work in today's world."

Referring to the recently-held 'E-ducation Without Borders' conference, he said, "The conference demonstrated our success in meeting our goals. Through the event, our students displayed the skills necessary to succeed in the modern age."

Salama Al Amiri, President of the Student Council Association, said: "As students of the college, we are taught to be leaders in our careers."

The Eastern Motors and the Al Ain Intercontinental Resort were the main sponsors of the event, in addition to 48 other companies, hotels and businesses.

In addition to the Heritage Village, the two-day show included Academic Displays, Fashion Show featuring 'Scalini Haute Couture'. The National Admission and Placement Office and the Community Involvement Division also contributed to the exhibition.
