With the summer months finally coming to an end, people flock the streets to enjoy the cooler weather and get a good workout in the warm autumn sun.

When it comes to fitness, it can be difficult to maintain a fitness regime, particularly due to the hot weather. However, there can be no excuse for fitness - avoiding the issue now will only result in a multitude of problems later, so it is important to keep your body moving.

With this in mind, fitness challenges and movements have popped up in order to motivate the local population into being more fit and healthy, taking care of themselves and exercising their bodies to the fullest. With numerous studies being published about the importance of physical health, it is doubly important to make sure you keep your body happy and healthy, and you will thank yourself for this in the long run.

One example of such a movement is the Dubai Fitness Challenge, an initiative that was begun by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. The challenge lasts one month and is a movement dedicated to get residents and tourists alike to commit at least 30 minutes of exercise every day for 30 days.

Initiated in 2017, this year will be the third edition, and the goal is to surpass last year's attendants and bring over one million people together in exercise and camaraderie.

The event will begin on October 18, and will run for the next 30 days, ending on November 16. The event is open to all ages, abilities, interests, and fitness levels, and is designed to get people up and running - and be more aware of their fitness and stamina levels. It's incredibly easy to join the movement - simply download the Dubai Fitness app, and record your workout for the day, which can involve anything from basic cardio workouts to canoeing to skating, and everything in between.

Group events are held in parks across the city to get people to participate in team sports and get their hearts pumping. The app also allows you to connect with friends to help each other stay motivated, and the Dubai Fitness app has been updated to allow new routines, and informs you of new classes and sports events around your area. This year, there will be two dedicated fitness villages, community-centric fitness hubs, free facilities and sports zones available across the city, so get your running shoes on, and switch on the app to see the facility nearest to you. With loads of community classes, friendly tournaments, and a wide range of sports, there will be an event for everyone, no matter what type of exercise they may prefer.

With so many options available, there is no chance for an excuse, so download the app, and start preparing for the Dubai Fitness Challenge!
