ABU DHABI — A tragedy of errors, if you may choose to call it so, occurred at the Department of Preventive Medicine in the capital on Sunday: it was chaos confounded for an Iraqi family that received the body of a Syrian from the morgue, after some inadvertent slip.
The Iraqi family was handed over the body of a Syrian, and mercifully, the mistake was discovered while the body was being taken to the Abu Dhabi airport to be flown to Iraq.
The mistake was rectified soon after the officials discovered that the body of the Syrian was not at the morgue and rushed to make amends by informing the Iraqi family. The Syrian family did not make much ado of the plight as they were too crestfallen with the death of the breadwinner of the family, sources at the hospital said.
