ABU DHABI - Abu Dhabi and other parts of the country received light to moderate rainfall on Sunday morning and the temperature dropped to 5.6 degrees Celsius on Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology, Abu Dhabi received 2.2mm of rainfall and Al Wathba 1.4mm.
As north-westerly winds blew at speeds of up to 25 knots, the seas turned rough, sending waves as high as 10 feet. The weather office cautioned fishermen and beachgoers against venturing out to sea.
The NCMS forecast partly cloudy to cloudy weather today in different parts of the country with chances of scattered light rain over some areas.
Pleasant weather will prevail during daytime and cold over mountainous areas of the country, the NCMS said.
