He was speaking on the open day in the capital yesterday while meeting about 65 applicants who had approached the ministry to find solutions to their problems.
Meanwhile, in view of the amnesty period, Al Zahmi agreed to waive Dh35,000 fines imposed on a firm which had illegal workers.
“We call on all the company owners to come to the ministry to reguralise their status before the three-month amnesty period ends on September 2. It is a golden chance. They should benefit from it,” said Al Zahmi.
The assistant under-secretary rejected an application from a PRO, who came to the ministry to complete the formalities for a friend.
“Not everyone is allowed to enter the Open Day at the ministry because we want only those workers who are in urgent need of help to be benefitted,” he said.
