Jousef Jafaar, the Labour Adviser at the MoL, said that Dr Al Kaabi had sent directives to the officials to study the ways and means to implement the suggestions to the draft law.

"The amendments that the ministry would be taking into considerations should be in line with the international standards and to be fair to protect the labourers’ rights," said Jafaar.

The MoL has received the suggestions from the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and the Economic Affairs Council.

The ministry is keen to clarify all the chapters of the draft labour law.
