During the meeting, Blair briefed Shaikh Mohammed on his mission to the Middle East, which, he said, centres on narrowing the differences between the Palestinians and Israelis, to reach a just and honourable solution that would lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Shaikh Mohammed urged Blair to use his rich political experience and exert great efforts to solve the problem. He also urged him to see the Palestinian issue as a just issue that deserves more attention from the United Nations and the big powers of the world. This, he said, is to achieve justice and equality for all the peoples in the region.

Present at the meeting were Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Duler, Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Department and President of the Emirates Group, Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, and the British Consul General in Dubai.
