Mohammed orders houses for 1,000 low-income nationals

DUBAI — On the directive of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, new houses will be distributed in Oud Al Mutainah area to1,000 low-income UAE citizens, widows, and divorced women whose applicants were registered with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation.

Shaikh Mohammed has also approved a young people’s housing project in Al Barshaa area. The project includes1,500 villas to be built at a total cost of Dh2.7 billion. The project will be completed in 39 months.

He also directed the authorities concerned to allocate 1,500 residential plots for nationals who have the financial resources to build their houses.

Sources at the foundation said that the total cost of the housing programme of Shaikh Mohammed is estimated to be around Dh9 billion.

Shaikh Mohammed toured the areas where these projects will be executed. He met the people there and talked to them. He said the houses being built for them would meet all their needs.
