DUBAI — His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received the Chairman and Board members of the UAE Central Bank, at his palace on Wednesday evening. They greeted him on the advent of holy month of Ramadan.
Dubai Crown Prince Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, other Shaikhs and senior officials were also present.
Khalil Foulazi, board chairman of the central bank, briefed Shaikh Mohammed on the performance of banking sector in the UAE in the first half of this year. He also briefed him about the growth of the UAE market in general and the financial and banking sector in particular.
Shaikh Mohammed commended the role of central bank in controlling and following up the banking activities in the UAE to ensure safety and protect the national economy.
The meeting was also attended by Shaikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Culture and Arts Authority, Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, State Minister of Financial Affairs, Sultan bin Nasser Al Suwaidi, Governor of the Central Bank, Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Governor of DIFC and other officials. —
