Aid groups warn any invasion would add to already-catastrophic conditions for Gaza's 2.4 million people
In remarks shortly after decorating the retired officers with first class Dubai Police medals, Gen. Shaikh Mohammed praised the officers for the sacrifices, which they had made in the early days of the establishment of the Dubai Police. He said that the UAE under the leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, has been a fast growing country and therefore institutions such as the police are also rapidly changing, hence the need to pass the torch to a younger generation of police officers.
He said the retired officers could now look back with pride to the achievements, which they had made during their service in Dubai Police. "Dubai Police are now an efficient force that are at par with world police institutions. This is a testimony given by the World Bank/IMF delegates who attended the annual conference here," Gen. Shaikh Mohammed said.
