Mohammed clinches Austin Park’s Endurance Race title

LONDON - His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, led the UAE team here yesterday to win the Austin Park Endurance Race in Britain.

Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Princeof Dubaui, took part in the event in the presence of Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Dubai Ruler, and Minister of Finance, a number of officials and endurance race fans.

The-65 riders, including King of Malaysia took participated in the six stages race. Teams from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Morocco, the US, Australia, Britain, France, Germany, Spain and others contested in the 160-kilometre race.

By winning the race the UAE team have qualified to the final World Endurance Race Championship, which will be held in London in August 2012.
