Mohammed bin Rashid honours winners of DGEP

DUBAI - The Vice President and Prime Minster of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum presented here today the awards to the winners of the of 14th edition of Dubai Government Excellence Programme Award (DGEP) in a ceremony held at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler hailed the DGEP for encouraging innovation and excellence. He introduced Jamal Zaal bin Krishan from Dubai Airport, who bagged the Distinguished Government Employee award, to Shaikh Mohammed. Krishan has invented non costly maintenance system of runways. He managed to maintain the two runways without disruption of the flights at the airport, saving money, efforts and time for the government.

Shaikh Maktoum asked Krishan to greet Sheikh Mohammed, who congratulated him for his talent and devotion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Shaikh Mohammad said each and every one has contributed to Dubai’s success and excellence through excellence in all fields.” He added that “Do not doubt your capabilities, because doubting is destructive as it kills innovation. Every morning you should wake up with full confidence and determination that you are pioneers and leaders.”

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry walked away with two of the most prestigious awards of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme for 2010: the best result in customer satisfaction with an 89.7 per cent rating, and the best result in employee satisfaction as well. Dubai General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs and Dubai Municipality were declared winners of the Government Entity Most Committed to the National Identity award. The Distinguished Government Team award went to a team from the Criminal Investigation Department at Dubai Police, which was named the Pink Panther.

Present were Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, CEO of Emirates Airline Group, Shaikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, senior officials and the relatives of honoured.
