Mohammed accepts invitation to visit India

ABU DHABI — General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has appreciated the contributions made by the Indian community to the development of the country.

He was talking to India’s Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Valayar Ravi, who called on him recently.

Shaikh Mohammed has also accepted an invitation to visit India. Valayar Ravi, during his meeting, extended the invitation to Shaikh Mohammed to further boost to the relations.

Valayar Ravi communicated the message of goodwill from Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and president of the ruling Congress Party Sonia Gandhi, who expressed their confidence in the growing bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields.

Valayar Ravi thanked the government and people of the UAE for hosting the Indian community in the country — constitutinh the largest number of Indians in any foreign country.

He also appreciated the amnesty granted to workers staying illegally in the country, saying thousands of Indians had benefited from the scheme.

Present on the occasion were UAE’s Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Abdullah Al Ka’abi, Indian Ambassador to the UAE Talmeez Ahmed and Yousef Ali M. A., director of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI).
