MoH tightens rules for medicine ads

DUBAI — The Minister of Health, Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qutami, has approved the regulations governing health related advertisements, stipulating that only the Ministry of Health is responsible for advertisements of medical products, and that no such products will be licensed if found incompatible with laws and regulations of the country.

Dr Ali bin Shukr, first undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, clarified that the regulations included the detailed rules for implementing the health ads system which was issued through ministerial decree no. (7 ) of the year 2007.
