Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Medical Practices and Licensing, stated in a circular that was addressed to all the directors of medical districts and private medical sector that there is no need now to re-evaluate the doctors and technicians but the specialized committee will approve the assessment issued by both HAAD and DHA on condition that all exams fees must be paid according to the decision of the ministry’s executive council.

He also stated that those doctors and technicians wishing to be employed in the ministry’s health facilities or licensed private sector, must register through the ministry’s website or the assessment link and have user name, password and attach all the academic qualifications, experience certificates and an assessment certificate from both HAAD and DHA to receive a reference number for every doctor or technician.

All doctors or technicians must provide their original copies to the customer services centre and pay a fixed fee to be followed by an approval of the assessment results that were issued by both health authorities with any re-assessment or exam.

“The committee meets regularly in close dates to facilitate and speed up the approval procedures of the assessment results” he elaborated.

Al Amiri added that a previous decision was established to allow doctors and technicians who are employed by HAAD and DHA to work in the ministry’s hospitals without any entrance examinations or interviews or assessment procedures.

“The current decision includes all public and private hospitals and targets all medical and technical human resources who can work in any health public or private health facilities in the UAE on condition they obtain the assessment exam from official health authorities in the country. The new procedure came in response of the demand of the ministry of health to the health council to ensure the unification of examination procedures, assessment and licensing in the UAE”, he added.
