Children's favorite mascot Modhesh represented all that is good and charitable about the city during surprise visits to meet children in hospitals recently.

The visits were aimed at spreading joy and cheer among young patients in hospitals across the UAE.

Dubai's famous mascot, an icon of the much-awaited Modhesh World and Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), has long been associated with fun and entertainment for children and youngsters in the UAE and region. On this particular tour, the mascot brought smiles on the faces of sick children admitted in different hospitals in the UAE.

The young ones, who often spent time bedridden or undergoing treatment were thrilled to meet Modhesh, shook hands, received gifts and took pictures alongside the mascot.

Modhesh has been on a goodwill citywide tour, visiting schools, malls and hospitals to instil in children the values of sharing and caring and to also promote the fun-filled activities lined up at Modhesh World this summer.

As part of the tour, Modhesh visited children in Al Mafraq Hospital, Debbaa Al Fujairah Clinic, Al Noor Centre, Al Watan Hospital and Debba Al Fujairah School for Special Needs.

Modhesh World is part of the summer festivals and attractions organized by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.

The 16th edition of Modhesh World will be held under the theme "Every step is a new adventure" from 9 July to 29 August 2015. DFRE's summer calendar also features Ramadan in Dubai, Eid in Dubai and the family extravaganza, Dubai Summer Surprises.
