Dr Hassan was accompanied by Mubarak Said Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Education Council; and Hilal Abdul Qadir Al Marzouki, Coordinator of Institutions at the council.
The visit comes within the framework of his inspection field visits to schools before the start of the new academic year 2007/2008.
Dr Hassan praised the Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Finance and Industry and other local departments such as the Abu Dhabi Municipality’s Department of Municipal Affairs for their efforts in construction of several new school buildings on schedule just ahead of the new session.
The minister emphasised on the importance of a well-equipped modern building as a key element in the educational system. He said that his ministry aims to build better facilities at the new buildings in line with the strategy of the federal government.
Dr Hassan also praised the role of the boards of education in creating conducive teaching methods which could be integrated with the ministry’s modern building plans.
The minister also encouraged communication and cooperation between educationalists in the ministry and education boards in order to meet the schools’ needs before the beginning of the new academic session.
