Al Buhairah police station received a complaint from the mother saying that her daughter had been playing in the play area of the park.

The mother left the daughter alone for a while and when she came back, she found that her daughter was missing. She searched all over the park, in vain. The Buhairah police station took all details about the girl from her mother and began a probe.

Strangely, the mother did not show up after her complaint. The police tried to contact her, but her mobile phone was constantly switched off. Police officials finally found out the whereabouts of the mother and realised that her daughter was with her. On asking why she did not report about finding the daughter, the mother said she was living in the country illegally and was worried about being nabbed by the police.

The mother said an Ethiopian woman had found the girl crying in the park and had taken her home from where she contacted her mother. The woman and her daughter were later taken to the authorities concerned to complete legal procedures.

Colonel Abdullah Humaid Taryam, director of the Department of Society Police, urged parents not to leave their children unattended even for a few seconds.
