The teacher's application for leave extension has been withdrawn from the Personnel Affairs Department of the Ministry of Education (MoE).

The teacher, who had applied for emergency leave to accompany her sick mother to her home country, was earlier found running a private school belonging to her mother in Sharjah. She had applied for the extension of her leave in May.

The Sharjah Education Zone had refused to extend her leave. She had then moved to the MoE and handed over her application to the concerned department where the ministry's "no objection" was notified on her application form.

Earlier, when contacted by Khaleej Times, Hanif had immediately sought the details of the case.

Sources at the MoE disclosed that following the minister's latest decision, teachers will no more be able to extend their leaves.
