As it becomes abundantly clear that texting and chatbotting are making students miserable right now, what they may actually need is a taste of the monk’s life
As we recount the arduous struggle for our independence under the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, we pay homage to our great leader, his co-workers and the freedom fighters whose enormous sacrifices made it possible to realise the dream of an independent state for the Muslims of the subcontinent. The country has come a long way despite enormous challenges, and is a proud member of the comity of nations and an active participant in contributing to international peace and security.
With determined resolve and enormous sacrifices, the valiant armed forces of Pakistan have succeeded in combating the evil forces of extremism and terrorism within the country, as well as external threats. The nation is proud of them and stands fully behind them in the noble endeavour to secure peace and safeguard the borders of the country. The armed forces and people of Pakistan are determined to defend the sacred motherland against all internal and external threats.
The dividends of safety and security returning to the country, as well as prudent economic policies and fiscal management, have yielded positive results. On the economic front, Pakistan has surpassed many milestones under the present leadership. The country has witnessed positive macro-economic indicators. The country's Foreign Exchange reserves have passed the mark of $20 billion.
Pursuing a vibrant development agenda, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor worth $62 billion is another leading milestone. This economic corridor project is destined to reshape not only Pakistan's economy but will have a positive impact on the development of the entire region.
On the occasion of our Independence Day, we would also like to thank our generous hosts, the UAE, with whom we enjoy time-tested brotherly relations. The UAE is home to approximately 1.3 million Pakistanis - the second largest expatriate community in the UAE, which is gainfully employed and actively participates in the progress and development of the UAE, their second home. We cherish the progress and development of the UAE under its far-sighted leadership and look forward to greater participation through enhanced trade and economic activity.
The leadership of the UAE has special affection for the people of Pakistan, manifested in their gracious assistance through various development programmes in Pakistan. The warm and cordial relations at the leadership level between the two countries provide continuous impetus to existing fraternal relations. The Government and people of Pakistan are determined to surmount all challenges and put Pakistan on the path of peace, progress and prosperity.
