Temperature levels in Dubai, Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah may drop by 3-5 degree Celsius on Sunday as Southwesterly winds coming from Northern Gulf area will overpower the weather conditions in the country.

On Saturday, the country’s weather became a bit warmer as temperatures rose by 3-5 degree Celsius in Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi from Friday levels, due to low pressure created by southerly winds.

However, Abu Dhabi’s Western Region including Madinat Zayed, Ghuwaifat near Saudi Arabia border and adjoining deserts and islands will first experience new weather cycle on Sunday morning when temperature will start falling up to 3 degree Celsius.

Highest temperature on Saturday was recorded in Abu Dhabi’s Madinat Zayed city, where the mercury rose up by four degree Celsius from Friday, to 31.4 degree Celsius, while in Dubai it was warmer by the same level to reach 27.3 degree Celsius.

Fresh winds with the intensity of 15km per hour blew sands in the deserts in the Western Region, bringing down the visibility level to 5km. The sea was rough due to the winds and the National Metrological and Seismology Centre (NMSC) has warned the fishermen of another day of rough sea on Sunday.

The centre forecast light rain on Sunday morning in the area of Strait of Hormuz, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.

On Saturday, there was a hazy weather in general, as the amount of clouds increased gradually over coastal areas and northern emirates by evening and night, associated with light rain over some islands.

However, the temperature will start decreasing, especially in Dubai, Al Ain, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah as the southerly winds will start converting into northwesterly. The change will be experienced in the Western Region in the morning, extending gradually towards the rest of areas.

The winds will be moderate to fresh in general, causing blowing dust, sand and horizontal visibility tends to decrease. The strong winds of 25 kilometres per hour will make the sea rough in general, on Sunday.
