Medical licences to be issued online from May
ABU DHABI As part of its efforts to enhance the e-government policy adopted by the country, registration and renewal of licences for private medical practice at the Ministry of Health will be online with effect from next month.
Dr Ibrahim Al Ghadi, Director of the Central Private Medical Practice Department ,said efforts are under way to electronically link a licensing programme to the medical districts in the country.
He said the programme will start functioning as from early May.
Dr Ghadi, meanwhile, pointed out that the ministry has decided to make it mandatory for alternative medicine practitioners to work on trial basis for one year, prior to granting them final licences, so as to practice the profession.
He underlined that the move was aimed at guaranteeing the safety of patients and to secure efficient alternative treatments.
