“For the first time in the emirate, the prison clinic has an emergency section with new medical equipment that comply with the international standards,” Al Jinaiby added.

Major-General Khalil Badran, Director-General of Finance and Services Division at the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, said the clinic at the Al Ain prison has been set up under the directives of Lieutenant-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, who is keen to provide humanitarian help to the prisoners.

Major-General Badran said the clinic is linked electronically with the General Authority of the Health Services of Abu Dhabi.

The clinic is equipped with an echocardiograph for heart check-up, nebulisers for asthmatic and allergic patients, a dental clinic, X-ray facility and a modern laboratory.
