This step is in line with the DoT’s strategy to resolve parking issues in the capital by providing residents and visitors with an effective parking management system.

The new Mawaqif timings — from 9am to 4pm and from 9pm to 2am — will be effective from the first day of Ramadan and will apply for the entire month, with motorists being exempt from paying the parking fees between 4pm and 9pm and from 2am to 9am.

Customer service representatives will be available to handle all types of queries at the DoT’s customer service centers in Marina Mall from 9am to 4pm, from Sunday to Thursday and on Hamdan Street from 8am to 2pm and from 9pm till 1am, from Saturday to Thursday, and from 9am to 1pm on Fridays.

Eng. Najib Al Zarooni, General Manager of Parking in the Department of Transport said: “The DoT is trying its best to provide best services to road users in Abu Dhabi.

Mawaqif’s paid parking hours are being modified during the month of Ramadan in order to better serve motorists and give Muslims the opportunity to practise Ramadan rituals while effectively regulating and managing parking facilities during this holy month.”
