Man’s body found floating in Sharjah Creek
SHARJAH — The Sharjah Police are investigating the death of an Asian whose body was found floating in the Sharjah Creek opposite Old Souq on Tuesday morning.
The deceased seemed to be in his late thirties.
The body was found by workers who were loading goods on ships and dhows anchored in the area. The workers informed the police operations room which dispatched a rescue team, Anjad patrol and CID officers who fished out the body.
A police source said the man could not be identified, as there was no identification document on him.
The body has been transferred to the forensic laboratory for autopsy.
The police suspect foul play behind his death as the body appeared to have been in the water for two days.
The police took several people working on the ships anchored in the area into custody and launched an intensive investigation to solve the mystery.
