Management company ordered to vacate
ABU DHABI — A hotel apartments management company has been ordered by the Abu Dhabi Court of First Instance to vacate the building that is under its possession on Muroor Road in the capital. The building houses 72 apartments and five shops.
The court ordered the company to vacate the building and hand it over to the Department of Commercial Buildings.
Ali Al Berairi, manager of the company, told Khaleej Times the court issued its verdict on February 13 and he was shocked to see court representatives, officials from the department, two policemen and two carpenters in the building lounge, demanding immediate evacuation.
“It was a surprise for me and for the 72 families residing in the apartments for years,” he said. “I told the executing officers that it was not possible to evict the families in a day. They gave us until February 27 to vacate.”
