Colonel Maktoum Al Sheriefi, director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Abu Dhabi Police, said the police arrested the man in Al Shahama district of Abu Dhabi before he sold the drugs.

Lt. Colonel Sultan Sawayeh Al Darmeki, head of the Anti Narcotics Section of the CID of Abu Dhabi police, said that the CID was tipped off that a 32-year-old man was in possession of a huge quantity of hashish and used to frequent Abu Dhabi in order to circulate the drugs.

The squad was issued a warrant by the public prosecution to arrest the suspect and track him down.

The squad arrested the suspect, who works as a taxi controller at Al Shahama, red handed with the suitcase in the back seat of the vehicle.

Searching the bag, the squad found 11 medium pieces of hashish wrapped with plastic. “Beauty of 2008” was written on each piece of hashish.

Interrogated by the police, the accused allegedly confessed to his crime, but denied circulation for trade purposes, alleging that the suitcase belongs to another suspect, who left the suitcase in the car. Police are still searching for the second suspect.
