SHARJAH — A 25-year-old UAE national was killed and two others sustained serious injuries in a brawl between two groups of young men in Umm Khanoor area in Sharjah on early Sunday morning, the police said.
According to eyewitnesses, more than 10 young men fought a pitched battle with sticks, knives, swords and other weapons.
The deceased, identified as Hamado, was stabbed in his abdomen and other parts of the body, which resulted in his death on the spot.
Two others, who received serious injuries in the back and head, have been admitted in the Kuwaiti Hospital, where they are in the ICU, the police added.
The injured, who are aged between 19 and 24 years, are from Umm Khanoor.
When the police reached the site on getting information about the brawl from an eyewitness, they found two young men lying on the road in a pool of blood. But by that time the other miscreants had already fled the scene.
Police have launched a hunt to nab the accused.
The body of the victim was taken from Sharjah Police forensic morgue and buried at around 9am yesterday.
The family members and relatives of the deceased declined to comment on the incident.
