Man dozes off, vehicle lands in pit between roads
AJMAN — An Indian motorist who dozed off had a miraculous escape Sunday when his vehicle landed in a pit on the unpaved area separating the road he was driving on and the Emirates Road near Al Humaidiyya.
The driver was only identified as Gangaram, 32.
Had the vehicle not landed in the pit, it would have crashed through the divider and landed on the other side of the road and get rammed by vehicles coming from the opposite direction.
Gangaram was driving a station wagon of his sponsor for whom he works in his farm in Zubair area of Ajman, police sources said.
He confessed to the policemen, who spotted him that he had dozed off for a few seconds. He escaped unhurt but the vehicle was slightly damaged.
