He was referred to Public Prosecution yesterday.

On receiving information, Sharjah Police personnel rushed to the scene and found the body lying on the mattress. The victim had been apparently hit by a blunt object on his head while asleep.

During investigations, a relative of the victim told the police that there was some dispute between Hassan and one of his colleagues.

A hunt was launched for the accused and he was found hiding near the scene of the crime.

During interrogation, he confessed that he had an argument with Hassan over some matter but his other colleagues intervened and calmed down both of them. All of them later went to sleep.

The accused told the police that since his anger did not die down, he decided to kill Hassan.

A police source said that the victim, the accused and other workers lived on the roof of the abandoned building which had no electricity and water.

He said that they had proper residency documents, but were engaged in part time jobs.

He added that most of the labourers who lived in the building fled the scene before the arrival of the police.
