Many are familiar with the iconic musical compositions of Antonio Vivaldi. Whether in coffee shops or gourmet-food stores across the world, Vivaldi’s works have evolved into the backbeat of the bourgeois bustle. It is also highly likely that his famous composition, ‘The Four Seasons’, has received the most exposure possible.
A tribute to Antonio Vivaldi, this concerto is performed by a European ensemble, keeping everything within a well-defined musical comfort zone, favouring time-tested masterworks with an edgy contemporary flair. “It’s one of the most beloved and favourite works of all time, an extraordinary musical depiction of the famous ‘Four Seasons’ masterpiece,” commented Sabina Khandwani, Head of Marketing.
The theatrical and musical rendition of Vivaldi’s work will coincide with an acrobatic and twirling Rock ‘n Roll performance, aimed to remix the illustrious masterpiece with the classic tones of the violin with boldness and innovation. The popular 18th-century musical is among the boldest programme music of the Baroque period, with the refrain continually departing from and returning to an initial baseline theme. Vivaldi wrote the individual Sonnets to go along with each movement of the ‘Four Seasons’. Each sonnet is meant to work as a build-up to the finale, acting like something of an apotheosis with beautifully intricate and strong themes going off in unexpected directions.
