Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Sultan Haitham exchanged friendly conversations that underscored the strength of the fraternal relations that bind the two countries
That’s the lesson the management of a shopping centre recently learnt when it had to apologise to a woman who panicked when the lights were switched off when she was still shopping inside the mall all alone.
Also, to mollify her, the mall issued her gift vouchers worth Dh200.
As it happened, the woman lodged a complaint against the mall with the Department of Planning and Economy in Abu Dhabi.
“When the lights were switched off, she got scared. Therefore, she complained to us,” said Ahmed Rashid Al Mansouri, Head of the Consumer Protection Section at the department, adding that the complaint was the first of its kind.
Shopping centres should not switch off the lights after the end of the official working hours without checking if there’s any shopper left inside, Al Mansouri warned.
