Malaysians geared up to celebrate 31st National Day

ABU DHABI & DUBAI - A range of sports activities, food bazaar, photography competition and go-kart tournament would mark the 31st Malaysian National Day celebrations, which commence on August 22.

The celebration of Malaysian National Day, which falls on August 31, will end a day earlier in anticipation of the start of Ramadan.

Nearly 100 Malaysian bowling enthusiasts would take part in the bowling tournament at the Shaikh Zayed Sports Centre in Abu Dhabi from 9pm on August 26.

First Secretary Fadli Adilah, Head of Chancery and Charge d'Affaires Ad Interim, said the photography competition on August 28 would feature photographs taken by Malaysian expatriates of the past events involving Malaysian gatherings and community events over the years.

All the photography entries would be on display at the Malaysian embassy in Abu Dhabi on August 30. The winners would be announced the same day.

Thirty go-karting enthusiasts have signed up for the go-kart competition at the Dubai Autodrome on August 29. The event will commence at 9pm.

The Malaysian Food Bazaar from August 22 to 29 would give an opportunity to the guests to try out the multi-ethnic traditional food at Beachcomers in Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai, from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.
