Maktoum inspects access road project

DUBAI - Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Technology, e-Commerce and Media Free Zone, paid a visit to Dubai Municipality to learn about the Dubai Internet City (DIC) access roads project undertaken by the civic body.

Qassim Sultan, Director General of the municipality, said the project, work on which will begin during the final quarter of this year and take 15 months to complete, will cater to the existing and future needs of the area and smoothen traffic flow to and from the Dubai Internet City. Shaikh Maktoum later toured the Customer Service Centre at the municipality where the public can avail of customer service on all civic services, including those related to buildings, maintenance, planning, roads, public health, environment, parking and other general services. Shaikh Maktoum also visited the Traffic Signals Control Room at the municipality and was briefed about how traffic signals are being managed electronically at 166 junctions of Dubai, in accordance with advanced engineering standards in the world. Shaikh Maktoum was impressed with the accuracy and sophistication of the control system.
