Maktoum Bridge will be partially closed for DSF

DUBAI — General Department of Dubai Police has announced partial closure of the Maktoum bridge during the opening of Dubai Festival 2006.

Brigadier Issa Aman, Deputy Director of General Department of Traffic, said that the road leading to the bridge will be partially closed starting from tomorrow. From January 2 until the opening of the DSF on January 4, the vehicles will not be allowed to pass across the right lane in the direction from Diera to Bur Dubai. Aman announced that Al Maktoum Bridge would be closed completely from both directions from 9pm to 10pm on January 4.

He said the department has determined seven locations for firecrackers, which will burst at different times. The fireworks show will be started at Debra Palm at 9pm, at Sumerian Beach Park after seven minutes, at Dubai-Sarah road at 9.14pm, in Trade Centre at 9.30pm, at Maktoum Bridge and Festival City at 9.33pm and the last show will be at 10.09pm at the global village.
