Major fire drill at Adnoc oil station

AL AIN — Al Ain Civil Defence Department yesterday conducted a major fire drill and mock evacuation exercise at the Adnoc oil station in Zakhir Area as part of the National Plan to Face Disasters chalked out by the Ministry of Interior.

Director-General of Al Ain Civil Defence Department and eight of his officers attended the drill, designed to sharpen the abilities of the fire combatants and prove the successful coordination among different crisis reaction teams in Al Ain.

The drill scenario described a fire that broke out in the main tank number C2P13 at Zakhir oil station of the Adnoc company and its spread towards inflammable chemical and petroleum substances.

Al Ain Civil Defence ambulance, Police Ambulance, Rescue Units and traffic police participated in the drill.

The National Plan to Face Disasters includes a plan to control oil fires and aims to check the readiness to face crises as well as preparations by companies.
