Majid Al Futtaim shopping malls in Dubai - Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, Mirdif, Al Shindagha, Me'aisem and My City Centre Al Barsha - hosted a special Iftar gathering on June 18 for more than 20 children from the Red Crescent at Besh, Sheraton Mall of the Emirates. As part of the 'Make a Difference' Ramadan campaign, the malls hosted the children, aged between 6 and 12 years old, for a scrumptious Iftar and an entertaining evening at the hotel.
"We were delighted to host an unforgettable evening for the children from the Red Crescent orphanage again, this year, celebrating the spirit of compassion and giving during the Holy Month. At Majid Al Futtaim we believe in creating great moments for everyone, everyday and with this in mind during the Holy Month we invite visitors to participate in the Make a Difference Ramadan campaign that brings families together for festivities and gives them an opportunity to donate to people in need," said Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, Managing Director for Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Shopping Malls (UAE, Bahrain & Oman).
Majid Al Futtaim has partnered with Red Crescent for the eleventh year for the 'Make a Difference' campaign, which aims to encourage people to donate to families in need during Ramadan. The campaign is in line with the 'Year of Giving', an initiative by UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to develop programmes that celebrate the virtues of giving and create a spirit of philanthropy among residents of the country.
People can donate toys, books and clothes at collection boxes located at all Majid Al Futtaim shopping malls during the Holy Month. Residents and tourists in the UAE can also schedule a free pick up of their donations by using the Fetchr app during Ramadan.
