Madinat Jumeirah bags individual, team awards

DUBAI — Mahmoud Chamchame of Mina A’Salam, Madinat Jumeirah was declared Concierge of the Year 2007, at a gala dinner on the Roof Top Gardens at Wafi on Tuesday. Al Qasr, Madinat Jumeirah won the Best Concierge Team 2007 overall.

‘Concierge of The Year 2007’ has been a thrilling competition. Around 32 competing teams from five-star hotels in Dubai participated in this event sponsored by Wafi in conjunction with the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).

Over Dh55,000 was awarded in prize money plus specially-designed trophies and certificates presented by Ibrahim Yakout, Executive Director for Training Solutions for DTCM and Abdulla bin Hussain, Director of Local Affairs and Marketing, Wafi Group of companies.

Mahmoud won the title and will receive a total of Dh12,000 as a cash reward from Wafi plus attendance at UICH Conference 2008 in Copenhagen and a trophy with a certificate.

Mahmoud took the Most Caring Concierge Award last year and has continued his development until his success as Concierge of the Year 2007.

Al Qasr won the overall Best Concierge Team Award and received Dh20,000 in cash plus a trophy.

Other awards and cash prizes were presented including First Class Customer Care Award, Outstanding Knowledge of Culture and Heritage Award, Head Concierge of the Year Award.
