Along with South African vocal artiste Zain Bhikha, Yusuf Islam is calling an end to war in Iraq by recording a new version of the multi-platinum 'Peace Train'.

The two singers will make personal appearance today and tomorrow at the BurJuman Centre to premiere the video clip of Zain's haunting and lyrical call for universal peace, 'Our World', released under Yusuf Islam's Mountain of Light label that he recently launched in the Middle East. Audiences were also shown a video clip of the new version of 'Peace Train' that was recorded in South Africa.

Proceeds from the sale of both 'Peace Train' and 'Our World' will be distributed to Iraqi children victimised by the invasion by the UK-based and UN-registered 'Small Kindness' chairty organisation.

"I wrote 'Peace Train' to protest another tragic war that filled my generation with sadness and uncertainty. It seems to me that 'Peace Train' is more relevant than ever," Yusuf Islam said.

The earlier version of Peace Train sold multi-million and was listed by BMI as one of the most played recordings in record industry history.

Yusuf Islam said that the idea to record the new version came in response to an invitation to participate in 'One big No', a concert organised in London to protest the war against Iraq featuring Neil Young, George Michael, David Bowie, Ronan Keating, Yoko Ono, Elton John, Michael Moore and Coldplay among others.

Contributions for the Iraq can be made through the www.smallkindness.org web site.
