Murder-suicide in Sharjah

Kumar left behind three suicide notes addressed to his parents, brothers and the police explaining that his wife had betrayed him by allegedly having an affair, according to Sharjah Police. In the first note for the police, Kumar had apologised for the inconvenience to the police and admitted that he had killed his wife and daughter because he “loved” them and wanted to be united with them even after because “he had already forgiven both ‘him’ and his wife”.

Note to mother

In a note to his mother, he requested her to forgive him for what he had done and to give his regards and love to his brothers and sisters in India.

Kumar had in the third note, requested his brother to sell all his furniture and take his savings in the bank to pay off his debts and give the rest of the money to his mother back home.

Brig. Al Mutawa, Sharjah Police Chief, said the police suspect that Kumar was suffering from mental illness at the time of the suicide. “If he had found that his wife was betraying him, he could have divorced her rather than killing her, his daughter and himself,” he added.

He said this was the second such case in Sharjah occurring due to the mental illness of the head of the family. Last year an Indian national killed his three children and his wife by slitting their throats before killing himself.
