All the technical and technological requirements have already been furnished, according to Brigadier Ahmed Nasser Al Rais, Director General of the Central Operations at the Abu Dhabi Police H.Q.

The new system comes in response to the surge in the UAE's development and economic growth.

The Abu Dhabi Police has restructured its bodies and services to keep up with the latest technological developments, Al Rais added.

The traffic and licences system adopted here is one of the biggest all over the emirate. Being combined with several linked branches, it helps ease and expedite daily transactions.

The offered services, including vehicles' check-up, driving tests, fines, accidents, and patrols, are all electronically linked to many governmental bodies, among which are Emirates Transport, Adnoc Distribution and Municipalities, Customs Service and Emirates Driving School. Above all, the system has been connected to the Criminal Security Section, Al Rais observed.

The new federal system based upon a comprehensive database connecting all the emirates, effectively started operations in the emirates of Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, and Fujairah early this month.

The RAK emirate will follow suit next Saturday, Al Rais concluded.
