Jassem Al Marzooqi, Surprised Island Competitions Supervisor, said: "We are hosting a range of competitions that have been packaged in an excellent format with themes that have been carefully chosen. Some of the competitions judge strength of the swimmer like the competition for children between the age group of 10-13 where each child will swim end-to-end of the pool to test their endurance vis-à-vis the other child." "We will host events at both the Swimming Pool and the Soapy Playground," he said.

The Paddle Boat race for children between the age group of 8 and 10, Paint-the-Logo competition where competing children jump into the swimming pool and create a logo with their movements. The Diving competition will test both the physical strength of the competitor and their swimming abilities. In this competition children will be required to pull out heavy objects from the bottom of the pool. The Water Balls competition, a fun competition where each team consisting of two members are required to fill up baskets with coloured balls filled with water.

Children can also participate in the Aqua Marathon, a time game where a six-member team do laps of the pool within a limited period of time. The Soapy Ground at the Surprises Island will also host relay races. Children in the age group of 6-8 can participate in the Balloon Competition. Kids wanting to register in the competitions can do so tomorrow at the Surprises Island before 12 noon. The competitions, where several attractive prizes will be given away will be held at the same day between 4pm and 6pm. Surprises Island, which is organised by Dubai Development Board in the West Hall of the Airport Expo, has earmarked Mondays as Ladies Day between 10am and 4pm.
