An array of high quality Italian products, services, and technologies are on display at the four-day event. The primary focus of the exhibition this year is on the region’s building, construction, and contracting sectors.

Among the products that are being showcased at the exhibition are building materials, accessories, furniture, home furnishings, home accessories, bathroom fittings, sanitary ware, kitchen fittings and equipment, windows and doors, flooring material, ceramic products and accessories, wooden products, metallic and compound materials, and lighting equipment.

“The Italian building materials industry, especially the cement, ceramics, bricks, glass and the woodworking segments, is making major inroads into the global construction sector due to its superior quality,” said Saif Al Midfa, Director-General of Expo Centre Sharjah.

“The Italian Lifestyle in the Emirates Exhibition is aimed at providing the Middle East construction and other industries with a sourcing platform for high quality Italian products and services. In fact, this event is an ideal opportunity for the region’s construction sector to experience Italian excellence and aesthetics first hand,” he added.

The Italian Lifestyle in the Emirates Exhibition this year features 200 leading Italian companies and service providers occupying two halls at Expo Centre Sharjah measuring 8,000 sq. metres. The Italian Trade Commission pavilion at the exhibition consists of 80 Italian companies occupying a total exhibition area of 1,314 sq. metres.

“Besides being the Middle East’s largest and only sourcing platform for quality Italian produts and services, the Italian Lifestyle in the Emirates Exhibition provides ample networking opportunities for regional companies wanting to enter into strategic alliances with companies from Italy,” said Al Midfa.

“Given the focused exhibit profile of the current edition of the show, we expect a 15 per cent increase in visitor turnout this year over 2005,” he added.

The last edition of the Italian Lifestyle in the Emirates Exhibition attracted 12,160 visitors, of which 11,660 visitors were from the GCC countries including the UAE.
