Addressing a large audience at the Indian Consulate auditorium recently, Indian social worker Mr Bhatia who is currently on a visit to Dubai, urged people to allow "their mind to heal their body."

He described meditation as an antidote to all modern maladies and yoga as a way of life that could infuse people with positive energy, helping them to attain their goals. Having mastered "Patanjali Sutra " and specialised in yoga therapy, Mr Bhatia said that both meditation and yoga are totally secular in nature and transcend geographical borders. Although the origin of meditation and yoga could be traced to India, there are more people practising them in the US and other Western countries than in the country of origin, he said.

Mr Bhatia is said to have cured hundreds of people suffering from blood pressure, hypertension, heart diseases, obesity and back-pain through special yoga courses.
